Nine Thousand

I hit 9k words, I hope to get to 20k by the end of the month. I only have one more week of school, then I should get a bit more time to write. I made a promnise to myself that any free time I get will be devoted to writing from here on out. I'm still considering whether or not to post some excerpts here. Any opinions? Not exactly like I get a lot of views here or anything. We'll see.

Amazingly productive today

So I've had a great day. I started by dusting off the old laptop and getting it ready to work on. I changed my wallpaper to something more zombie appropriate. I found it at jgero.wordpress.com. Seems like a good place for several wallpapers, and he has an interesting blog, although I have trouble getting how he can be both an atheist and an agnostic. Perhaps I'll ask. Probably won't. I also updated my twitter backgraound with a zombie theme that I found on twitrounds.com. Check out my twitter page for a look. The link is below. Follow me while you're there. Then I actully got to writing. I wrote about seven pages, not sure how many words that is, but whatever it is, it's about 25 percent more than I had before. I feel like I'm rolling now, and with the week off of school, I would like to repeat today's output as often as possible for as long as possible. Now, should I release some pages here? What do you think?

Okay, back again.

I'm writing again. No, I'm not participating in NaNoWriMo, but I am inspired by it. I am working on the book again (that's right I said book). I am on the second or third chapter, and have started to get used to the convention of splitting up my prose with my protag's journal entries. Things are beginning to get fleshed out. I'm considering posting an excerpt. Maybe, maybe not. We'll see.

Okay, I recently finished a book by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan entitled The Strain. It is the first book in a trilogy, and it is awesome. I highly recommend it. Below, I have attached a trailer that some enterprising people made for the book.



I understand that technically this is not a book about zombies per se, but once you read it you will see the similarities, especially after you read The Perished.

Been Away ... sorry

It's been way too long since my last post. I wish I could say that I spent the whole time writing, but alas, no. I have been writing quite a bit over the last couple of days though. I finished the RD of my prologue, and now I feel like I can really sink my teeth into the story. Sorry, pun. If I were an artist, puns would be my medium. Unfortunately, I'm no artist so you just get stuck with the shit I come up with.

Day Three

Ok, the poll is up. Please vote, I can't decide myself. Also, if you have something you would like me to add, let me know. Wrote some last night, pretty bad stuff, but its important to get something down. I'll fix it later. Writing more today, blogging to help jump start the creative process.

Day Two

Just about to sit down to write. I am reworking my beginning and completely changing the narrative style. Originally I was writing the entire story only in journal entries made by my protag, now I will be using mostly third person narrative, with periodic journal enties mixed in. I also have worked out a major plot point, more on that later.

Some notes on things to come: Expect a poll question soon, also more zombie pics from the web. I would also like to put the call out to anyone interested in submitting any zombie fanart, I will post it.

Day One

Just a few thoughts and pictures. I have been briefly surfing the web, searching for some cool pics and links to post. I am doing a little research for my story as well (kinda two birds one stone thing.) I am looking for something that a male zombie might find attractive in a female zombie, trust me it will make sense later if it doesn't now. By all means, link anything you might come across.
